Mitchell County Iowa
Mitchell County is a progressive, rural-based county with many urban
amenities. Our county provides numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation
such as County owned land for upland game hunting, 16 parks, 3 rivers, 3 trout
fishing streams, a public lake with camping, 6 public camping areas, canoeing,
jogging/biking/horse riding/snowmobile trails, along with a new conservation
learning center. There are approximately 25 churches that cover 7 denominations.
There are also ambulance and rescue services that are backed by our county owned
hospital. These services are enhanced with access to the Mayo Clinic.
Mitchell County is a short drive distance from Des Moines, our state capital,
and the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN.
