Located in the northwest portion of Mitchell County, 6 miles south of the state line. The western city limit is the Worth County line. Highway 105 runs east to west through Carpenter, with St. Ansgar located 5 miles to the southeast and Northwood located 10 miles to the west. Carpenter is a growing town with nearly 130 residents, an increase of nearly 30 people over the past decade. Carpenter relies on the St. Ansgar School district to meet the educational needs of its youth. The Carpenter Community Center holds hundreds of weddings, and auctions.
