Located in northeast Mitchell County, 3 miles south of the Minnesota border. T-62 runs north and south serving as the town's connection to Highway 9. McIntire is a growing town with nearly 180 residents, an increase of nearly 40 people over the past decade. McIntire relies on the St. Ansgar School district, as well as the Riceville School district to meet the educational needs of its youth. Ron Richardson has served as the mayor of McIntire for the last 20 years. He is the leader of the 5 person mayor-counsel that governs McIntire.
